On the Move

We have less than 3 weeks left in the house that we have occupied for the last 18 months. Things are slowly being sold; things carefully disappearing. In the midst of scaling down and packing up, we are still trying to keep our lives as normal as possible: visiting with friends and keeping our usual routine.

We have had some fun highlights:
1) Zoya turned 3! I can't believe how fast my babies are growing but there you are. She had a wonderful day of walking around telling everyone it was her birthday and ended with an ice cream cake celebrated with our neighbors.  Interestingly enough, once her birthday ended, she moved on, no complaining/whining/demanding more birthday. I was very proud of her. She lived her life to the fullest that day and moved on.
2) Kindness Advent calendar.  Have you heard of it? Everyday we open a new envelope that tells us one kind act to do.  So far we have: gotten treats for our librarians, taped exact change onto vending machines, paid for the next person in line at an eatery, gave a grocery store gift card to a random person and other fun things. The kids (and I!) love this! It really is the highlight of our day.  It is such a joy serving someone else anonymously.
3) Goodbyes to sweet friends. We have had some really great times with some really great people that we will dearly miss.

Pray us out of the country!!  Specific things you can pray to sell: our minivan (our second car sold and we are down to a one-car family), our table, a mattress, curt's bike, the kids' bikes and our grill.  We have one more garage sale.  Pray that everything would go so we can leave well.

One month on Tuesday, we fly out of the States for good.  We are SO thankful to The Lord for this amazing opportunity to get to, yet again, serve overseas.  We are so excited and ready for this next chapter of our lives. Lord willing, our next post will be from our next location!!

Merry Christmas to all! And to all, a good night :).
