So, I have some time right now which I thought I should use to be productive. Ah, Americans :).
We are coming to a close on our summer project. The students are only with us for 2 weeks (it's the shortest project CCC has Stateside) and they have been here for a little over a week. It has been a fun summer with lots of learning involved. As many of you know, we are on staff with Lifelines, which uses the outdoor environment to challenge people to grow. So, we don't just take people rock climbing or sea kayaking but rather we use that time to also challenge them in their emotional and spiritual growth.
Needless to say, the summer has been crazy. There has been lots of climbing, kayaking, biking and hiking (even soccer games in the evening!) but there has been A LOT of learning. Curt and I have both learned a lot about ourselves and have continued to grow closer to God and each other. We have had the privilege of discipling one of the students, Rachel, while we have been here. Although it's hard to know how to dive in in such a short time, it has been a joy to get to know her.
The kids are great. The girls are at my parents for 2 weeks and spent one week of that down the shore. They had a great time!
Carmen has popped out two teeth and has suddenly decided that he enjoys sleeping 12 hour nights. We'll see if it lasts. It's been a couple of days now and that usually means it's a pattern for him. We will hope and pray. I can't believe how easy it is to have only 1! What a difference it makes! Who would've known??!!
Thank you for praying for us this summer. It has really been a good challenge as far as emotional and spiritual growth. It's been good and tough.
