Easter

We had a good Easter. It sort of crept up on us! The girls each had a basket full of things to play with outside. The biggest hit? Huge bubble wands. It was a really windy day and the girls spent 2 or 3 hours outside playing with those things!
Carmen helped the girls look for eggs. He would look in each of their baskets and pull all their eggs out. He was quite good at it!
He was also sick for the first time ever this past week. 103 degree fever! Whew! It lasted 3 days and is slowly fading. He was a very good patient, taking his medicine and sleeping extra.
Zoya continues to be a blast with smiles and laughs. She is a BIG sleeper (I guess we all already knew that) and now sleeps 6:30pm-7am, when I go in and wake her. Love it! She has just started sitting up on her own. We always said she was strong! She will be 20 weeks tomorrow.

Sorry it has been so long since the last post (thanks for the reminder, Teresa!). It was a busy week. Here's what's going on:
-Zoya and Carmen were dedicated in church on Sunday. It was such a blessing to have the kids prayed over by Pastor Steve.
-Zoya had her 4 month checkup. Yes, she is 4 months. We can't believe it. She was 70% for height and 15% for weight :). Long and lean. Apparently, that's how we grow 'em.
-Zoya started solids this week! I was determined not to begin until she turned 6 months but she started waking at night again from hunger. So, I started her on rice cereal and that night she slept way better. She has also had sweet potatoes. Carmen was a pain trying to get to eat. I could tell he didn't like it. I think Zoya actually likes her food!
-I went in for my 12 week knee checkup. Everything looks good and I can begin running again. Phew! What a long road.

We are wrapping things up, ministry-wise. The guys' BBS has gone well and it will be continuing next semester. Curt and Dave have run A LOT of outings this semester but have seen very little fruit. Continue to pray for them (they are out with a fraternity pledge class now as I write this). The girls' BBS has been awesome. I have talked through the gospel clearly with all of my women and 2 that I suspected weren't believers when we first started together definitely are now! Praise the Lord!

We have 3 weeks left until the end of the semester. Pray that we would finish strong!

Busy

We just had a school come in from California that Curt spent the week leading. They came for our specific Lifelines programs and Curt spent several days setting up climbing, hiking and paintball outings. Most days he was gone from when he dropped the girls off for school until 10:30 at night. It made me realize how much I appreciate him being around! The students who came had a great time and learned a lot about themselves. At our staff's debrief, Curt and Dave both said it helped them remember why we do this stuff. We see lives changed!

Speaking of changed lives, one of my girls', Erica, friend became a believer this week! It is so fun watching the impact my girls have on others! Erica and I have been studying Romans together weekly and she is a changed woman from it! It has helped her really understand why Jesus came and then to be able to share it with her friend.

On a totally different note, I put the picture of Carmen in here (standing) because he is wearing an outfit my mom made for my brothers. Yes, that outfit is from the 70s and we have so many more! You could say my mom is a bit of a pack rat :). Isn't that awesome?
